After serving 20 years in prison for killing children, Guy Béranger (Angelo Bison) is out on parole. Due to his heinous crime and still being regarded as a danger to society, Béranger is placed in the remote monastery of Vielsart Abbey. Inspector Chloé Muller (Stéphanie Blanchoud), is reassigned from her duties in Brussels to guard and protect the despised Béranger from the threat of villagers nearby.
However, recurring nightmares fuelled by childhood trauma forces Muller to face her own fears after a local girl goes missing. It’s not long before the idyllic community is sparked with outrage against Béranger’s suspicious behaviour, uniting a vengeful mob and a religious sect, sworn to defend the sacred oath. Together with a young monk named Lucas (Clément Manuel), Muller stumbles upon dark secrets hidden in the village and within the monastery walls.
