Win a signed copy of ‘The Year of Living Danishly’

Earlier this year saw the UK release of the funny and clever The Year of Living Danishly, the debut novel from British journalist Helen Russell.

Russell is former editor of and a Scandinavian correspondent for The Guardian. After her husband was offered a job, Russell left her job in London for the rural landscapes of Denmark. The author recounts five lessons that she’s learned on the blub of her debut novel:

1)   Being well-lit is akin to a basic human right in Denmark.

2)   Danish toddlers are the luckiest creatures in all the world.

3)   A snake autopsy passes for a fun day out in rural Jutland (ditto crab racing).

4)   Paying an extraordinary amount of tax isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

5)   Pastry and potatoes might just be the secret formula for happiness.

From Nordic food, design and obscure Danish history, The Year of Living Danishly is a comical, poignant and original record of a journey from Blightly to Scandinavia.
