The third and final series of Wallander got underway last week on BBC Four. With Krister Henriksson returning to the role as tormented Detective Kurt Wallander, fans were able to indulge in another fascinating case of the Swedish drama.
The second film of the series is broadcast this Saturday and sees Wallander investigate the disappearance of an eight-year-old schoolgirl named Ella. Her divorced parents are fighting a bitter custody battle over the child and are soon suspected of involvement. But the case stalls as both have cast-iron alibis and seem in genuine distress, and Wallander begins to notice similarities to an old case of his that remains unsolved.
