Sofie Gråbøl made a rare UK TV appearance last week on the BBC’s This Week political talk show – you can catch it via the BBC iPlayer here.

The Killing actress is currently preparing for her highly anticipated appearance as Margaret of Denmark, Queen of Scotland in Runo Munro’s new play James III: The True Mirror, running from 10 – 22 August at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Together with host Andrew Neil and guests Michael Portillo and Diane Abbott MP, Sofie discusses her (English speaking) role in Edinburgh and, as a Danish speaker who has had to learn English as a second language, her observation that non-native English speakers can often have a better understanding of the language than those for whom it is the mother tongue.

The full programme is available to watch via the BBC iPlayer (Sofie’s interview starts at the 35 minute mark).
