No sooner had we bid him farewell on out TV screens, than our favourite Swedish copper returns. Kurt Wallander is back in An Event in Autumn, the 11th in author Henning Mankel’s series of Wallander novels due to be published in September.
Having moved into his dream home, we join the detective in a much brighter mood than normal. However, when he explores the grounds he discovers a woman’s body. As the police comb the property further, another body is discovered, and Wallander is forced to look deep into the dark history of his new abode and its surrounding area.
The novel is based on Mankell’s short story which was adapted in 2012 for the BBC version of Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh.
Appropriately, given its title, the book is being published in the UK on 4 September. You can pre-order your copy here.
