‘Modus’ starts Saturday on BBC Four

Scandi Saturday nights in return with a brand new Swedish crime series!

Melinda Kinnaman stars as criminal psychologist Inger Johanne Vik. After appearing in The Bridge III last year, Kinnaman is set to become the next Nordic Noir heroine for audiences to applaud. Co-starring Wallander’s Krister Henriksson, Modus is the latest crime thriller from Sweden to shred our nerves and deliver a dose of festive fear. The first double episodes of Modus begins Saturday 26th November on BBC Four and will be available to purchase from iTunes Sunday 7th November.

We have enjoyed the emotional journey of Beck season six and the Australian crime dramas The Code and Deep Water have captured our attention beyond the Nordic Noir horizon. Now, we coming back to Sweden for a chilling new series with roots in Scandi crime fiction. Earlier this month, the BBC released a teaser trailer to whet our appetites and send a shiver down our spines.

Modus takes place at the height of the Christmas season and Vik is tasked to investigate a mysterious killing spree that quickly threatens the life of her own family. Not only must Vik balance work with being a single mother, her autistic daughter Stina (Esmeralda Struwe) witnesses a murder that plunges Vik’s world into chaos. With the help of detective Ingvar Nyman (Henrik Norlén), Vik must discover the identity of the killer before Stina becomes his next victim.
