Watch dysfunctional Danish comedy at its darkest!
Men & Chicken previously screened in the English capital at the 2015 London Film Festival (LFF). Now, as part of the LOCO London Comedy Film Festival, Men & Chicken is coming back to the UK this weekend! LOCO is a non-profit foundation which “discovers, develops and screens the world’s most original comedy film-makers”, and is proud to be “the UK’s only international comedy film festival.” At LOCO, you can see two special screenings of Men & Chicken starring Mads Mikkelsen as you’ve never seen him before!
Meet Elias and (Mikkelsen) and Gabriel (David Dencik); two socially awkward and idiosyncratic brothers. Elias has hypersexual chronic urges, Gabriel cannot hide an involuntary gag reflex, and both have distinct cleft lips. The brothers’ lives are forever changed when the man they believed to be their father dies; leaving a taped confession that their real father – Evelio Thanatos – is still alive and taking up residence in a dilapidated sanatorium on the island of Ork. Elias and Gabriel are compelled to meet their estranged father but are completely unprepared for what they discover about their lineage in Men & Chicken. Søren Malling, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Nicolas Bro co-star.
Get ready to set your weekend aside and waddle on down to Central London with a spring in your step! Catch the 9pm showing of Men & Chicken on Saturday 30th April at Picturehouse Central. Otherwise, you can see the off-beat comedy stylings at The Hen and Chickens theatre pub from 6pm on Sunday 1st May!
