Following the tense series finale of Israeli drama Hostages, do not fear for we have a brand new drama to satisfy your morbid curiosity. This week, Italian political thriller 1992 debuts on our British screens marking it the new European ‘one to watch’ series.
1992 examines Italy’s most controversial and tumultuous year in the world of politics after several politicians and public figures were accused of damaging the Mani Pulite (Clean Hands) investigation. This political corruption led to the annihilation of the democratic First Republican Party as well as the extraction of several other Italian political parties. This was a troubling period for Italian parliament that resulted in a series of deaths and suicides from various political leaders.
