‘Hostages’ Premieres On BBC Four This Saturday

The original Israeli crime drama is set to captivate audiences this weekend

As with the critically acclaimed remit of Scandinavian programmes such as The Killing and Borgen, BBC Four brings us a taut thrilling drama Hostages. The US remake starring Dylan McDermott and Toni Collette aired on Channel 4 in 2013. However, this time the suspense is set in and around Jerusalem in a new 10-part original suspense series.

Brilliant surgeon Dr. Yael Danon (Ayelet Zurer) is targeted the night before she is scheduled to operate on Prime Minister Shmuel Netzer (Shmil Ben Ari). With her family held at gunpoint, Danon is threatened to assassinate Netzer otherwise her husband Eyal (Micha Celektar) and children will die.

Each episode intensifies the cataclysmic situation, as Danon is torn between her love for her family and defying her country. The plot twists and turns into a dramatic conclusion; intent on gripping viewers each week until the electrifying climax.

Hostages launches on BBC Four on Saturday 21st February
