The final season of the Swedish crime series Wallander will begin on 17 May on BBC Four.
The third season will see Krister Henriksson return to the title role for the last time as the popular Nordic series comes to a close. Based on the best-selling books by Henning Mankell, Wallander centres on reclusive detective Kurt Wallander whose eccentric personal life gets in the way of his professional work. Prone to using unusual and, at times, illegal methods of working, Wallander depends on instinct and disposition to get the job done.
Wallander originally aired on BBC Four in 2008 to critical acclaim and returned for a second series in 2010. Containing six 90-minute episodes, the third and final season has been a highly anticipated event for many UK viewers.
