Nordicana: Nordic Noir & Beyond Live 2015 was the place to be for fans of the popular Scandi crime and drama shows filling our television planners and watch lists. Almost five months have passed since the Troxy theatre in East London brought together the esteemed Nordic stars from award-winning shows, including The Killing’s Sofie Gråbøl, The Legacy’s Trine Dyrholm, Marie Bach Hansen and Jesper Christensen, the cast of 1864 and Moa Gammell from Jordskott. Joining the magnanimous line-up, having recently completed filming the third season of The Bridge, the icy blonde Sofia Helin greeted a rapturous audience with a conversation and Q&A.
Having attended last year’s festival with co-star Kim Bodnia in tow, his departure from the series was even more noticeable with Helin flying solo. However, whilst fans were still getting used to the idea of Martin Rohde’s absence and grieving from the second season finale, their appetites were quenched by Helin’s graceful insight into The Bridge, her passion and excitement at returning to Nordicana.
In our exclusive interview, filmed backstage during the jam-packed event of signings, first-look screenings, Q&As and Scandinavian food stalls, we got the chance to speak with the decorated actress. We found out from Helin more about that iconic costume of Saga’s to what we can expect in the third season of The Bridge.
We trust you will enjoy getting to know Sofia Helin and Saga Norén a little bit better as The Bridge III is destined for our screens very soon.
The Bridge III begins on Saturday 21st November on BBC Four
