We are happy to announce that another presenter to join Nordicana: Nordic Noir & Beyond Live 2015 is Emma Kennedy. The English actress, writer and presenter will delegate one of the festival’s most anticipated events: a conversation with Nordic star Sofie Gråbøl.
The woman behind one of the most influential female characters to come out of television, Sarah Lund, will be attending the Nordicana event on Saturday 6th June and will board a one-to-one discussion with Kennedy about her involvement in the Nordic Noir genre. As well as The Killing – arguably the kick-starter for Nordic Noir – Gråbøl now plays a pivotal role in the British-Icelandic series Fortitude, which debuted on our UK screens earlier this year. Gråbøl’s career spans three decades with a number of film performances to add to her belt including Nightwatch (1994) and The Hour of the Lynx.
As well as an actress, presenter and writer, Kennedy is an avid fan of her upcoming interviewee having indulged in the entire three seasons of The Killing - referring to Sarah Lund as “a heroine to remember.” The writer penned her own written guide to the series offering readers a chance to get inside the mind of one of television’s most influential characters. As well as this, Kennedy has written a series of novels including How to Bring Up Your Parents, The Tent, the Bucket and Me; not to mention her ‘Wilma Tenderfoot’ children’s book series. Her impressive career as a presenter, actress and author (not to mention Nordic fiend) deems Kennedy the perfect choice to lead a discussion with Gråbøl at Nordicana 2015.
This is only one of the highlights of the Nordicana festival with Q&As with The Bridge’s Sofia Helin, stars of The Legacy and the cast of latest Danish sensation 1864 as well as exclusive screenings of upcoming series.
Nordicana: Nordic Noir & Beyond Live 2015 takes place 6th-7th June at the Troxy theatre in London’s East End – purchase tickets & see the full schedule here.
