Crime. Drama. Now comedy. Get a well-rounded Scandinavian experience with the Nordic humour as dark as Noir itself.
The outrageous and hilarious comedy of errors that challenges the Nordic Model of quality family life will leave you in stitches. Frank (Frank Hvam) reprises his role as the immature and irresponsible ‘manchild’ in a feature-length misadventure Klown. The film is directed by Mikkel Nørgaard, who helmed the Department Q adaptations The Keeper of Lost Causes, 2013 and The Absent One, 2014 and is co-written by stars Hvam and Casper Christensen.
Frank and his best friend Casper (Christensen) find themselves babysitting Frank’s twelve year-old nephew Bo (Marcuz Jess Petersen) as they have no choice but to bring him along as they embark on a sleazy canoe trip riddled with adult entertainment. Surrounded by the unlikeliest of role models, Bo soon learns that his inappropriate uncle is just the person he has been looking for and help him overcome some very humiliating insecurities.
With a Best Film nomination at the 2011 Bodil Awards and an Audience Award win for Nørgaard and producer Louise Vesth at the Robert Festival 2011, the critical acclaim granted the hapless duo with a sequel. Frank and Casper will return in Klown Forever, scheduled for a September 2015 release in Denmark.
