It has been revealed this week that filming for the fourth season of acclaimed French crime series Braquo has wrapped with just post-production to be completed. The news comes after the show’s third season came to a tumultuous end earlier this year seeing its lead characters arrive at a rather dramatic climax.
Braquo follows a group of four police agents who operate in the inner suburbs of Paris. After a colleague is wrongly convicted resulting in his death, the elite group conspire to incorporate brutal and unorthodox methods including coercion, misconduct and breaking of their moral code.
Braquo is co-written and created by French actor, screenwriter and filmmaker Olivier Marchal, who is best known for the multi-award-winning crime drama, 36 Quai des Orfèvres (Department 36) for which he wrote and directed. Braquo has gained critical praise by critics and viewers alike and is one of the most-watched shows in its native France.
Braquo first debuted on British television back in 2009 and has received rave reviews from viewers and critics alike. There is no word on a release date for season 4 just yet but we will keep you up to date with any developments. In the meantime, make sure to catch up with the first three seasons, which are out now on Blu-ray and DVD.
