2014 saw the launch of a sub label of Noric Noir; Beyond, which looks at Noir and crime drama from all over Europe and the rest of the world. One of those titles was the controversial but acclaimed German series Generation War which looked at a group of friends who endure the horrors of World War 2. Despite its alternative look at the war the series proved to be a hit and was a widely discussed topic, even having its own special talk show following the broadcast of its final episode.
Starring young German actors including Volker Bruch, Tom Schilling and Katharina Scütter, this alternative look at World War 2 was awarded an International Emmy back in November for Best TV Movie/ Miniseries. Well done to everyone involved. We hope to see more of you soon.
