Stars of the past and present come together to represent Denmark in London
The parallel story-lines that make up the narrative of DR’s 1864 are set to defy space and time as Jakob Oftebro (who plays Laust Jensen in Denmark 1864) and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (Claudia Henriksen in present day) will appear alongside their fellow actors Marie Tourell Søderberg and Jens Sætter-Lassen at this year’s Nordicana 2015.
While the dramatic series is predominantly taking place in the past to commemorate the tragic and bloody carnage of one of Denmark’s greatest defeats, we are proud to present a young and talented brigade of relative newcomers to the Nordic scene.
A native of Norway, Jakob Oftebro has started his rise in the Nordic ranks in a series of supporting roles. His film credits include the Oscar-nominated Kon-Tiki (2012), directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and the dark crime comedy In Order of Disappearance (2014) starring Stellan Skarsgård and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. Oftebro has also appeared in season two and three of Lilyhammer (2013-2014) and in the second season of The Bridge (2013).
Having appeared in an episode of The Killing (2012), Sarah-Sofie Boussnina landed the leading role of troubled teen Mia in the bittersweet feature-film Bora Bora (2011) with Pilou Asbæk. She has also appeared in the second adaptation of the Department Q novels Fasandræberne (2014), starring opposite Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Fares Fares, as well as 1864 co-stars Søren Pilmark and Asbæk for the third time.
Nordicana: Nordic Noir & Beyond Live 2015 takes places 6th-7th June at The Troxy in London’s East End – purchase tickets here.
